For the past four years, Siemens has been supplying transformer stations to BP Europa SE for their Aral pulse stations in Germany to support electric charging infrastructure. Currently, around 300 stations are installed, with additional orders for approximately 350 more units. To optimize operations, the stations distributed across Germany are centrally monitored and controlled. Since the operation of electric charging infrastructure recently falls under the NIS 2 conditions of critical infrastructure, the communication and security structure concept has been completely revised.

• Hardware retrofitting in the stations.
• Setting up a central service cloud for patches, updates, and user management.
• Providing the operating software Electrification X (control and monitoring of equipment and load management of charging stations) as well as attack detection SIEM (Security Information & Event Management).
