Very short realization time of just half a year – including changeover to a new generation in the automation technology and the engineering software. Significant reduction of engineering and commissioning workload in the current project and generally for the scalable machine and system portfolio.
For the new plant, Dieffenbacher converted the available applications of S7-400 and STEP 7 V5 to S7-1500 and the TIA Portal. With the TIA Portal, the complexity of the engineering was decreased so that the plant could enter productive operation on time, despite the high time pressure
"The ability to configure communication connections with a mouse click and to be able to rely on the fact that they will work without problems makes engineering a whole lot easier."
Ulf Könekamp, Technical director Dieffenbacher GmbH, Eppingen
Time savings due to simpler engineering, e.g. thanks to error-free configuration of the communication with the click of a mouse
Reduction of commissioning workload by approximately 1 working week per plant thanks to integrated system diagnostics and PROFINET
Lower overheads in new projects through re-use of existing software from small machines up to large plants – thanks to the integrated scalability of the S7-1500 controller family
Dieffenbacher is a leading manufacturer of presses and complete production plants for the timber, automotive and supplier industry with more than 1800 employees and 17 production and sales centers worldwide.
