Kurtz Ersa is a family-owned technology and supply corporation with
a history stretching back over 235 years. With a global presence and
uncompromising quality standards, Kurtz Ersa is now building on its
leading market position. Kurtz GmbH manufactures deburring presses as well
as foundry and particle foam machines, which are later used to produce products
such as "Boost" sport shoes.
One challenge faced by Kurtz is the commissioning of foundry machinery,
including for the automotive sector. Machines and production
lines are delivered "cold", which means that they are only
commissioned after arriving on the customer’s premises. That comes with a high
risk of cost overruns. As such, the goal is to minimize errors in advance
and reduce setup times on site.
