Due to the global pandemics outbreak of COVID-19, the demand
of masks worldwide is increasing, resulting in a shortage of supply in many
countries. In response to the pressing demand for masks, by leveraging the
resource from industry-academia cooperation, Feng Chia University, MASGICK
(Mask innovation company) soon collaborated with Tera Autotech Corporation to
develop the innovative
mask, so-called Mask
4.0 which can adhere faces directly without the need of ear straps or head
bands, providing more complete protection to faces. Siemens DI Taiwan played an
important role by offering the comprehensive Digitalization Solutions to Tera
Autotech Corporation and enabled their production lines to optimize the
performance and reached
higher productivity by 50% and contributed to the mass production of mask
to support COVID-19 prevention during this critical time.
The following key products and solutions Siemens
provided boost the production line performance.
Provided MCD and TIA technology for the customer
to utilize Digital Twin to integrate with virtual and reality and enable simulate,
visualize, analyze and optimize the entire production lines.
Offered the integration of software and hardware
with high end motion controllers including S7-1515T,S7-1200, V90 driver & motor,
and mobile panel.
Siemens motion technologies assisted the mask
forming, glue spreading machine and package machine to integrate into one
entire machine to reduce the space and the complexity of engineering.
1. By implementing Siemens motion controller can reduce
the engineering time for machine. 2. Tera Autotech Corporation can utilize Digital
Twin to simulate the application prior to the product going live and ensure the
precision of production. 3. The reliable solution with an optimized
automation system enabled the customer to predict the performance of the
production lines.
