A typical production environment lasts for several years or even decades. In this time, the IT infrastructure is subject to continual change, new requirements are frequently arising and changes can require extensive costs or set-up times. 

Trefz wanted to reduce tool costs and set-up times in their production environment and cooprated with different companies (machine manufacturing, ERP systems, tool setting device and Siemens).

Siemens interacted as part of this project and provided the commissioning of the SINUMERIK Integrate Service, with which machine parks can be connected to higher-level IT systems at the company level. The service solution includes the following details:

• Manage MyTools (MMT) for the tool management of Siemens´ control system was installed on five DMG machines. 
  
• Access MyData (AMD) for the connection to the tool setting device for the measurement of tools and for the connection to the ERP System abas

Trefz was founded 1969 in Frauenzimmer. At that time the focus was on the subcontracting of abrasive parts for the electrical and mechanical engineering industries. Today the company with 25 employees produces assemblies and sophisticated precision parts according to customer requirements, precisely, quickly and economically.
