Teknoice is one of the world’s top players in the production of ice cream machines. The custom-built machines are able to satisfy small companies and large multinationals in the production of ice cream on a stick, in cones/cups and also include the wrapping machine at the end of the line.

The project engages the addition of a “smart” module in the wrapping machine, in order to distance the products correctly, so that they enter the plant at the right distance from one another. The advantage is an electronic solution, no longer a mechanical one. This machine goes in the direction that the company has been undertaking for a long time: more and more user-friendly machines, for a leaner and optimized production, guaranteed quality and goodness of the finished product. Now, with the Siemens solution, the ice cream format can be set by HMI or directly by SCADA. Moreover, the project, completed in a few months, involved the use of:  

• four conveyor belts in series, moved by 1FK7 brushless motors and Sinamics S120, components that Teknoice has been using satisfactorily for years.  

Each axis, controlled by a 1500TF, accelerates or slows down the corresponding belt to put the products “in step”. To do this, the free Intelligent Infeed application package from Siemens was used.
