The energy supplier EnergieSüdwest Netz GmbH had the goal of migrating its network control system to be able to monitor its networks without jeopardizing the security of its operating and supply area, as well as relocating the requirements of the ISMS (Information Security Management System).

  • System access via AWS Workspaces for maintenance and office/service workstations with two-factor authentication
  • Software-as-a-Service service contract for functional provision, update, IT security, and patch management service
  • Remote control protocol IEC 60870-5-104
  • Import interface for weather data in CSV format
  • Data points in the system: approx. 20,000
  • Remotely reported: approx. 12,000
  • Commands: approx. 200
  • Substations: approx. 400
  • Gas/water stations: approx. 100

With the transition to a cloud-based network control system and the provision of functionalities as a Software-as-a-Service service, we have a highly flexible solution with extensive expansion possibilities available. This allows us to focus even more on network operations and aim to increasingly establish new business opportunities as a service partner for municipal utilities, industrial, and infrastructure operators in the future.
