This cheese cuber machine is designed to process cheese blocks into cube cubes. Objectives: Increase product quality and processing speed while also drastically reducing the amount of waste per product. Reduce cycle time. To make simulations for short start-up times. Need of controlled movements.

The blocks have dimensions of 14x14mm or 18x18mm. The machine will then determine the thickness of the scrap cuts (first and last). In this way, the waste per product is drastically reduced. The machine consists of 6 servo axes controlled with SINAMICS S120 and SIMATIC S7-15xx CPU with Technology Objects. The design of the machine allows the different types of cheese to be processed smoothly one after the other. The cheese is supplied by a corner transfer with a string band. Automatic length measurement determines the most efficient cutting pattern by the machine. Due to the optimization in motion profiles and PLC code, the cycle time when processing a cheese block is drastically reduced. Simulation in TIA Portal V16 using the Technology Objects allowed the software to be properly tested in simulation for a short start-up time. The visualization allows the operators and technicians to choose simple parameters and recipes, as well as to adjust advanced parameters as an experienced technician.
