The initial
request for the project is: the global connectivity approach so an approach for internal technicians and external partner and suppliers for help to maintain the OT networks and the production
assets. Leave the old factory approach used in the past and create a new system.
The
Sinema Remote Connect solution is the answer. This is useful for Electrolux but
also for the suppliers that are active in multiple installation across the
world.
The project
starts three years ago in USA with a lot of tests on the hardware and the software. Electrolux have standardized
this solution for remote access towards production sites. The global
installations of the Sinema RC servers are managed by Electrolux global IT office
in Italy. For all Electrolux factory across the world, the Scalance S615 is the
standardized device for remote assistance.
Instead of a local VPN solution to connect the factories, they can have a unique solution that can use across the regions. This reduces the complexity and the management effort. So, single client counts for every user located in the system for all the regions. The possibility to decide which person have access to Electrolux networks and witch supplier have access to which devices or endpoint. Easy activation or deactivation of the users in the Sinema RC interface. Scalance S615 (know by local ITs and OTs) is the endpoint that make the IT/OT convergence possible when global IT can give competence and resources for the worldwide infrastructures with Sinema RC Server installations.
