2021 - Valeo, a manufacturer of automobile parts for electronic vehicles, was facing multiple challenges concerning its office spaces at their locations in Erlangen and Herzogenaurach. Two of their rental contracts had expired and the employees must be distributed among the remaining buildings. In addition, the workforce called for more modern and innovative working environments and more flexibilty in the office space.

Together with Siemens Real Estate Consulting a new Working Environment Playbook was developed which defines relevant parameters for the Future of Work at Valeo. In a series of workshops, the core values of working at Valeo were developed. The Playbook contains: 

• guidelines and recommendations for the equipment and layout of the office spaces 
• defines different work zones and their spatial distribution 
• proposes suitable desk-sharing ratios for the different valeo teams and 
• shows a process on how to set up and implement new office spaces. 

In accordance to that, a feasiblity study of different layout scenarios was conducted to help the customer find the optimal solution for the company and its employees. In the end the Working Environment Playbook was tested in a pilot at Erlangen.
