Traditionally, end-of-life tires have been regarded as trash to be disposed of at minimum cost. This perception is now rapidly changing, and this type of waste is more and more seen as a circular resource for chemical engineering. Scandinavian Enviro Systems, a Swedish company, contributes to enhanced environmental and economic sustainability while building and operating facilities to recycle valuable resources from scrap tires. Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (in short Enviro) is a company developing, building, and operating industrial plants for material recovery from End-of-Life Tires (ELT). The company has developed a process, based on a patented technology: Gas, that is generated in the process, is heating the tires in absence of oxygen. This enables the tire materials to decompose and to be recovered instead of incinerated. Thus, a sustainable recycling of the resources carbon black, Oil, Steel and Gas is obtained. The products are used in new applications, replacing fossil resources to help customers reach their sustainability targets. Enviro was founded in 2001 and has its head office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
