The customers goal was to connect ten legacy CNC machines to a cloud-based operation monitoring system in order to extract some critical parameters. Collect and Integrate data from all machines in one place to develop applications for:
Real-time shopfloor monitoring using augmented reality.
Predictive services and monitor energy efficiency of each machine across the whole plant.
Use this data to develop applications to improve equipment and plant efficiency.
Data acquisition in a simplified and integrated manner for above objectives.
Siemens service experts provided an Industrial Connectivity Services solution including precisely defined requirements in consultation and the implementation based on a gateway solution.
The Brownfield Connectivity Gateway (BFC Gateway), facilitated the interconnection of machines across the shopfloor, regardless of their age, origin, or manufacturer.
The gateway enabled customizable, scalable and secure connection to Insights Hub.
Due to Covid-19 the project execution was done completely remote.
“Simplified execution and decision making, generating benefits for the entire operation in an integrated manner.”
Michael Ketterer, Director Operations and Quality, MWM Motores e Geradores
