Mohelnice Czech Republic
The customer's main goal was to establish the Innomotics plant in Mohelnice as a flagship location for digitalization.
The first step involved creating a digital roadmap, which allowed the customer to carefully plan each milestone over the coming years while also establishing a clear financial framework.
Digital Transformation Assessment played a crucial role in helping to navigate the initial stages of the digitalization project. This initiative started in 2019 and is expected to continue until 2023.
During the first year, Siemens service experts spent time and effort finding out the possibilities and verifying the expectations of the data users (production and maintenance departments). Dashboards were created directly for the needs of the Mohelnice plant. Advanced dashboards use higher analytical functions in the background and data from more sources (not only from the machines but also from further systems).
Innomotics extended the SIMOTICS CONNECT 400 sensors on the production machines' components and started using the SIDRIVE IQ Fleet app.
The project was divided into two steps:
1. Connect and Monitor
First-year connectivity solution (architecture) focused on the machine's connectivity – used PLCs for data aggregation and MindConnect Nanoboxes for data forwarding to the cloud. Amount of connected machines was 48 (Siemens and 3rd partly controlled).
2. Analyze and Predict
During two years, Siemens service experts were focused on functionality extension, not only on the connected machines (assets).
The number of machines wasn't increased significantly, but a further solution was implemented:
Higher data collection from different systems – SAP.
Research of implementing connectivity with maintenance system COMOS.
SINUMERIK EDGE application implementation for one of the machining machines with SINUMERIK ONE control unit.
SIMOTICS CONNECT 400 sensors extension and visualization app – SIDRIVE IQ Fleet used for almost 40 sensors.
Data monitoring and visualization has helped us in our digital journey for better results.
