The prior knowledge of the participants was mixed: Some were experienced programmers who wanted to acquire even more expertise, others were fresh out of school with no prior knowledge.

Siemens offered a customer-specific solution by adapting SIMATIC System transfer course to SIMATIC S7-1500 in the TIA Portal, including:

• Introductory topics were covered in an interesting way for those participants who had prior knowledge, using interesting tips and tricks for handling the software and programming
• The newcomers were brought up to speed on more advanced topics by gradually increasing the rate of knowledge transfer, accompanied by even more real-life examples and practical exercises
• Additional background knowledge on SW/HW was imparted to the customer, including by means of a spontaneous SINUMERIK Q&A
• Topics have been added from other courses: PROFINET, SCL programming, VARIANT handling
