Duesseldorf has the target to be climate neutral until 2050. They planned this combined cycle power plant to take Duesseldorf on the next level of enery transition with the use of a very clean fuel.
Due to the fact that the energy market is more volatile because of many decentralized plants (e.g. solar and wind), the plant must complement wind and solar energy. Therefore the plant must be startetd within several minutes and must be very flexible for the requirements of the market.

In this power plant they are using natural gas which is very efficient and keeps emissions to a minimum.Following products are implemented:
SIMOTICS HV Modular motor types (formerly H-compact PLUS & LOHER VARIO PLUS)
SINAMICS GM150 MV-Converter
„In Siemens,
we see a partner who can handle such projects reliably.”
Rainer Tröger, Gesamtprojektleiter Lausward “Block Fortune”, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG
"Block Fortuna" has broken three world-records:
Output: 603.8 MW
300 MW for the distric heating system
Efficiency rate > 61 %
