Ferrexpo wanted to train its own employees for service and project purposes in order to avoid relying solely on external specialists. For this reason, the company’s employees needed to receive an appropriate training.

Ferrexpo approached SITRAIN with the task of developing an On-site Training Program comparable to the German standard. Employees should be involved at an early stage in the development of their own production plant in order to be able to maintain their equipment.   

For most of the participants, the SITRAIN training was their first step into the Siemens world. It was therefore extremely important to give them a good insight into Siemens' industrial products and solutions. The participants already have basic knowledge of automation and HMI. Building on this, training courses for SIMATIC S7 and SIMATIC WinCC were held. The next step was then to integrate the industrial networks and SCADA into the MES and ERP systems. The target groups are project planners and maintenance engineers. 

The training contract has been established since February 2011 and it has been renewed twice; 29 Participants took part in SITRAIN trainings. The project continued in 2013 and 2014.
