Drive and automation systems have to be continuously available in any industry and all over the world, also when it comes to overseas shipping
Increased wear can lead to a standstill of the plant and cause noticeable financial loss
That´s why Gemak wanted Siemens to provide a comprehensive Motor Management Program to ensure the long-term availability of 140 AC/DC motors and 14 generators
In order to minimize downtimes, the customer requires the development and implementation of optimized maintenance schedules
Furthermore, the quality of the vibration analysis should be improved
The Motor Management Program for Gemak consisted of:
On-site services: Inspection, testing, repair and reporting at the customer´s site
In-house services: Maintenance and repair in the Siemens repair center in Istanbul incl. RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis)
Furthermore, a vibration analysis and electrical testing schedule for the motors and generators were implemented.
The customer is able to focus on their core business, while Siemens handles their motors
Increased availability of the motors due to condition-based maintenance measures and optimized maintenance schedules
Significant cost savings due to optimized maintenance measures
Customer benefits from a 24/7 availability of Siemens service personnel
