Drive and automation systems have to be continuously available in any industry and all over the world
Increased wear can lead to a standstill of the plant and cause noticeable financial loss
That's why Marport wanted Siemens to provide a comprehensive Motor Management Program to ensure the long-term availability of 99 motors
The customer also requires minimized downtimes during the inspections
Furthermore, the quality of the predictive maintenance should be improved by using vibration analysis
The Motor Management Program for Marport consisted of:
On-site services: Inspection, testing and reporting at the customer´s site
In-house services: Maintenance and repair in the Siemens repair center in Istanbul incl. RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis)
Furthermore, a vibration analysis (twice a year) and electrical testing (once a year) schedule for the 99 large motors were implemented.
The customer is able to focus on their core business while Siemens handles their motors
Increased availability of the motors due to condition-based maintenance measures and optimized maintenance schedules
Significant cost savings due to optimized maintenance measures
Customer benefits from a 24/7 availability of Siemens service personnel
Marport operates two container terminals: The Marport Main Terminal and the West Terminal.
Marport Main Terminal handled a volume of 718,543 TEU in 2012. Marport increased the capacities of both the terminal area and the quays which enabled it to begin services for deep draft post-panamax container vessels exceeding 10,000 TEU. The terminal reached an annual capacity of 950,000 TEU.
The West Terminal was added to the Marport facility in 2003. The West Terminal reached a throughput of 865,344 TEU at the end of 2012 and increased its capacity to 950,000 TEU with further investments.
