The SIMATIC S71500 communicates with the PLCs on existing machines. In the existing PLC programs, it is intended to transfer the desired data into a data block. A SIMATIC S71500 program was written to transfer the information to the network. The reporting and monitoring of the consumption data was provided by WinCC.
The customer was able to see how their machines worked by comparing them with each other. The results were less malfunctioning and more efficient. Better organization in the system made it possible to find the causes more quickly, which reduced machine downtime.
