The SINAMICS S120 fail-safe frequency converters are very compact and therefore fit perfectly in the control boxes of the AGVs. Thanks to the heat sinks of the SINAMICS S120, which protrude externally from the control box, an unimpeded flow of waste heat is possible without the need for additional measures.

As the automated guided vehicle system had been in service at BMW in Leipzig for a number of years, the vehicle drive and control technology required modernization.
