Using high-performance network technology from Siemens, the Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus AG has made its production network fit for the future. Redundant ring structures, high data transmission rates, cell protection with segmentation, and access via firewalls are essential for a fast, access-protected, failsafe, and highly available communication. Siemens, the Siemens partner HWI IT, and Rothaus have jointly developed, optimized, and implemented the network concept during ongoing operation.

• Access protection to all level provided by SCALANCE S615 and SINEMA Remote Connect
• Redundant backbone ring implemented with SCALANCE XR526-8C
• Redundant connection of the Gigabit ring segments with layer 2 switches to the backbone and network security provided by SCALANCE SC636-2C
• Transmission rates of 10 Gbps in the backbone ring and 1 Gbps in the sublayered rings
