Sustainability
The northern Italian machine manufacturer Dallan is a family business that has always specialized in technological innovations. For more than 40 years, Dallan S.p.A. has been designing, manufacturing, and installing complete and easy-to-use systems for producing high-quality products from thin steel coil, including punching, roll forming, laser-cutting, and packaging machines.
Objectives:
Dallen has the following challenges: Limiting the number of axes the machine can handle; energy is lost when large masses are moved in the punching system; multi-supplier configurations are very demanding when it comes to service.
Dallan S.p.A. has again taken the technological lead in a close collaboration with Siemens. The new Dalcos EXN II - fully automated coil-fed punching machine - sets a new benchmark for flexibility, efficiency, productivity. Thanks to the fully automatic coil infeed, the Dalcos EXN II enables material savings of up to 20% and energy savings up to 15%.
“One of our main goals was to increase reliability so that we could guarantee our customers more continuity, and we knew that the Siemens hardware would add more value to the whole machine.”
Andrea Dallan
Thanks to the fully automatic coil feed with the SIMATIC S7-1500 TF, the Dalcos EXN II enables material savings of up to 20% compared to conventional sheet metal processing machines. The new Dalcos EXN II processes coils with a width of 80 to 1,000 mm and a thickness of 0.3 to 4 mm with maximum energy efficiency and material yield.
