Modernization of the busies rail line in Victoria was needed to ensure reliable communication for the train signaling and control network, to increase capacity and safety.

Over 200 Siemens RUGGEDCOM network devices, used primarily in industrial applications that have a strong requirements for mission and safety critical elements, were deployed across the 200 kilometers of rail corridor.
The network devices integrate the entire signaling and train control network, linking with over 200 Siemens Clearguard axle counter systems, creating a seamless flow of information.
