EPF is an Italian enterprise that develops robotics solutions and that deals with industrial automation. Its core business is the creation of customized installations for users from the automotive, food, toys, gadget and pharmaceutical industries. Its mission is to provide flexible and innovative solutions that give the best ROI (return on investment).
Objectives:
- The difficulty to handle different production or maintenance activities, and also the storage space
- A machine capable of ensuring that also the unknown products were processed
- EPF had to rely on the work of robotic experts; each one specialized in a different brand of robot

The result of one of the latest collaborations between EPF and Siemens is Supata. It is a robotic cell designed to set up plants in different industrial product sectors.
The customer requirements were to be able to manipulate multiple inserts, complex shapes, be ready for new products, have a user-friendly HMI and to be able to change over quickly.
