At the Bierbaum Group, WLAN-controlled automated guided vehicles named proANT by the company InSystems Automation assume the transport tasks within the factory. An interesting step towards Industry 4.0 and an ideal application for a wireless communication environment.

The Bierbaum Group is a medium-sized textile company located in Germany. The Group produces textile consumer goods for trade and industry as well as technical textiles. Almost 260 of its 490 employees work at the company's headquarters in Borken, Germany. Bierbaum uses automated guided vehicles (AGV) called proANT by the company InSystems Automation, which autonomously move in the production hall. The communication runs via the wireless network.
