In 2011, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. was looking for a qualified and experienced maintenance partner who would ensure the functioning and availability of the paint shop equipment at its new plant in Kecskemét in the form of a maintenance partnership. Main requirements were the implementation of a maintenance management system in order to professionally carry out and further improve inspections as well as corrective and preventive maintenance activities. A further key requirement was the optimization of the spare parts management.

More than 40 employees work in a four-shift operation to maintain the paint shop 365/24. Work in the assembly shop as well as in the central vehicle body sorter is executed in a 3 shift operation by more than 30 employees.

Siemens was selected by Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. to be the maintenance partner for its plant in Kecskemét/Hungary. Around 750 vehicles – mainly the new CLA and CLA Shooting Break generation of Mercedes compact cars – roll off the production line here every day. As part of a performance-based contract, Siemens is responsible for the maintenance of the paint shop, the central vehicle body sorter and conveyor technology in the assembly hall.
