The customer, Ochsner Wärmepumpen, a original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of air/water heat pumps, was interested in finding a solution that would contribute to a more sustainable energy future. They sought a long-term partnership with a trusted technology partner to address their specific requirements and pain points.
Siemens provided Ochsner Wärmepumpen with a new control unit for their heat pumps, leveraging Climatix control units and Climatix IC. This solution enables cloud-based operations and services that offer customers cost-efficiency and convenience. This is made possible by a specially developed app that allows customers to control their heat pumps remotely, while the control unit facilitates remote servicing, updates, and optimization. This long-term solution, with a mixture of hardware and software, ensures top cyber security for Ochsner Wärmepumpen and their customers.
More than 4,200 controllers were sold between 2022 and 2024.
Siemens is delivering about 2,000 units on a yearly basis.
The new control unit and cloud-based operations improved cost efficiency and convenience as well as top cyber security. The ability to remotely service, update, and optimize the heat pumps resulted in enhanced performance and reduced maintenance costs.
