The installation is located in a stone mining area in the South of Poland, near Sandomierz City.
The end-customer, PBI Group, is involved in the extraction and production of aggregates, road construction, concrete production, paving blocks, prefabricated elements, mineral-asphalt mixtures, sulphur extraction, and provides transport and dedicated mining services. One of the mines involved in mining and processing deposits of dolomite and Devonian limestone has also built a photovoltaic farm, along with energy storage using Li-ion batteries.
Energy project developer - Soon Energy Poland (part of EDP Energia Polska) - has commissioned a hybrid installation EPC project which includes a PV farm and energy storage for PBI Group.
The dedicated fire protection and extinguishing solution was executed for Soon Energy by NAATU (the manufacturer of baterry energy storage systems).
We offered dedicated fire protection for energy storage using the Sinorix NXN extinguishing solution and Cerberus PRO fire control panel according to VdS certificate. This system provides protection for an energy storage capacity of 500 kW / 1,240 kWh.
The battery technology used in the installation consists of 2,160 prismatic LFP 173 AG cells.
The installation went live in September 2023.
