Reichert
faced multiple challenges in their complex production process for furniture
components, including difficulty in monitoring parts, increased product
variety, and tighter delivery schedules. Manual tracking with barcode readers
was laborious and inaccurate, making timely defect detection crucial to avoid
delays. Accurate tracking of parts was essential to
avoid delays.
Reichert
implemented a new ERP system and a high-performance RFID system for tracking
parts and status monitoring. RFID transponders can be
embedded in furniture panels, and customized RFID labels can be attached to
workpieces, facilitating automated identification during subsequent processing.
Marking with RFID allows Reichert to instantly determine location and condition,
eliminating the need for manual tracking and searching through the plant.
This
solution, integrated by Uhltronix GmbH, improved process transparency and
efficiency by using: -SIMATIC RF600
RFID System -SIMATIC
S7-1200
The complete package comprising PCF and RFID solution
that has been put together (…) is running very satisfactorily.
