The requirements for the speed and flexibility of the machines depend on the respective products and the customer’s willingness to invest. That's why Sollas offers a scalable machine portfolio. Up to now, stand-alone wrapping machines were automated with SIMATIC S7-1200, while high performance machines were automated with SIMOTION. The challenge was to develop a modular machine concept for the medium power range without the present mechanic limits. (e.g. main shaft)

By converting to a single axis solution based on SIMATIC S7-1500 T-CPU, SINAMICS V90 with Profinet servo drives and SIMOTICS S 1FL6 motors, a precise and dynamic machine with simple extension options could be designed. The firmware of the T-CPU therefore has sophisticated technological functions such as synchronized operation and cam discs. These are made available as technology objects in the system and are programmed with Step 7 in TIA Portal with PLCopen commands.

Fast product changeover without expert knowledge through efficient engineering of cams with the in TIA Portal integrated cam editor and the programming of motion control functions with PLCopen in the well known SIMATIC environment.

Overwrapping machines from Sollas wrap up to 120 cardboard boxes per minute while allowing product changes on the fly. Servodrives work in coordination so that the extremely thin film does not tear and every fold and heat seal point is positioned with absolute precision.
Overwrapping machine – SX50 Modular built automatic overwrapping machine, designed for the packaging of single products, as well as bundles, at medium to higher speeds.
