Production of sheet packages for thin sheet products with complex, highly dynamic attachment of glue layers for the adhesion of soldering powder. Also with a machine speed of 600 mm/sec, the glue points have to consistently lie on the wave crests. This necessitates a switching accuracy of <160 µs.
The user is able to specify the switching point with µs accuracy to ensure accurate positioning of each glue point. This is supported by the S7-1500 and ET 200SP stations, which are interconnected with the timer modules in the ET 200SP station TM Timer DIDQ 10x24V via Profinet in an isochronous manner. At the end, also the manufactured intermediate products' quality control attains an accuracy of 1 µs. This is facilitated by the DI function of the TM Timer DIDQ. Optimization according to other aspects is also possible and a more cost-efficient CPU may possibly be used.
With the TIA Portal, we now develop automation solutions which would not even have been possible in this form before.

The SPA GmbH located in Troisdorf near Cologne has specialized in control, programming and automation solutions. The company reliably provides solutions for the challenges entailed in complex automation tasks. A roughly 30 m long plant for the production of thin sheet metal products made of stainless-steel sheet represents an optimum example in this context. The machine is able to bend stainless-steel foil into waveform, attach glue points for the soldering powder with high accuracy and ultimately provide readily prepared sheet packages for the production of thin sheet metal products.
