Objectives:

• Establishment on the market as an innovative start-up in the glass industry with a strong partner
• Running the machine with one controller
• Need for motors for fullfilling glass factory requirements
• Need for motors for resisting harsh glass factory environments (hot temperature)

Supported by EU funding and the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, T&T has been relying on Siemens and SIMATIC motion control right from the start when realizing an IS machine for the first time. The new IS machine requires a high level of computing power as well as the experience to implement a reliable system in such an innovative and unique machine.
SIMATIC motion control system: The IS machine is equipped with SIMATIC S7-1518T. By combining the CPU with SINAMICS S120 servo drives and the use of SIMOTICS T-1FW6 torque motors, high motion control performance is reached.
