In Europe, directives like EC94/63 have pushed the implementation of VRUs, with phased requirements ensuring that even smaller terminals install these units. In India, terminals must comply to Environment Protection Act (Protection Rules 1986). The VRUs' design, featuring explosion-proof valves, temperature monitoring, and detonation arrestors, makes them robust and safe, even in volatile conditions.

Intrelec is one of the well-established and highly respected names in the industry for the design and supply of Switchgear and Automation Panels, their key strength being indigenously designed Drawout Assemblies. For nearly 5 decades, Intrelec focused mainly towards complex and large size industrial projects across sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Speciality Chemicals, Fertilizers, Mining, Cement. 
This project includes engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, supply, installation & commissioning and performance testing of Vapor Recovery Units (VRU) for Tank Truck (TT) loading operations at various terminals of major Oil and Gas players in order to comply with the requirements of Environment Protection Act (Protection Rules 1986). Similar projects worth more than 250,000 € have been executed in the past 5 years by Intrelec in partnership with Siemens. However, automation system requirements were much stringent for this project.
