After purchasing a new SINUMERIK-controlled CNC milling center, 500 CNC programs had to be ported and a new framework application created. At the same time, it was important to fully exploit the enhanced machine performance and flexibility in order to boost productivity and shorten set-up times. The whole project needed to be implemented as quickly and smoothly as possible, while minimizing production downtimes.

SinuTrain digital SINUMERIK twin  In order to ensure the best possible preparation of the switch to the SINUMERIK controller on the machine and to speed up the process, Warema decided at an early stage to go with offline programming using a PC with SinuTrain, the digital twin of the SINUMERIK. In SinuTrain, the operator works with the same SINUMERIK Operate version as the one installed on the machine and utilizes the machine data from the physical machine. The actual and virtual CNC have identical CNC editors, thus enabling the same operator control and programming. Both systems support graphical machining step programming with ShopMill in line with Warema's preference.
