An YpsoDose® injection system has a number of
different parts. The sterile inner workings, i.e. the medication path, are the
centrepiece here. The pathway comprises a needle and a tube that are used to
inject the medication. This medical device is subject to stringent requirements
for quality and safety. In order to ensure compliance with the Ypsomed
standards, Ypsomed needed a proven partner with reliable products. This is
where Siemens stepped in.
The modular TS 2 booster from Rexroth combines the
dynamics, precision and flexibility of linear motor technology for product
transport with the capabilities of the TS 2plus transfer system, rounded
out by top-performing Siemens products. The workpiece carriers can move freely
and flexibly within and between workstations. They are mapped as a separate
technology object in the TIA Portal, and all of the TIA Portal’s motion control
functions are available. This makes it easy to obtain an optimal interaction
between the workpiece carriers and other process axes such as conveyor tracking.
Processes can be optimised in this manner while reducing the cycle times to a
minimum.
Whenever we want to add a new process step, we can
easily do this by means of programming within the Siemens TIA Portal – without
requiring any mechanical adaptations.
