Haßfurt public utilities: Hire purchase of decentralized energy systems in Germany
Haßfurt,
Germany
• Safeguarding energy supplies for critical infrastructure (waterworks). • Significant need for investment in state-of-the-art energy technology to facilitate Stadtwerk Haßfurt’s entry into the primary control reserve market. • Setup of a local, largely automated microgrid with two SIESTORAGE lithium-ion battery storage units.
• Support of the battery storages through a long-term managed services model. • Hire purchase of the second storage unit for the waterworks.
“The energy transition requires not just state-of-the-art technolo-gies. It also needs intelligent financing and a partner who is well-versed in this market to ensure that local energy providers are able to make the necessary invest-ments.”
Norbert Zösch, Managing Director of Stadtwerk Haßfurt
Long-term financing of the project through a mix of hire-purchase and managed-services agreements enables Stadtwerk Haßfurt to make the investments.
With its state-of-the-art microgrid technology and both SIESTORAGE lithium-ion battery storage units, Stadtwerk Haßfurt meets the strict requirements for participation in the primary control reserve market and taps new sources of revenue.
The system also safeguards power supplies for the region’s critical infrastructure (waterworks).
