The customer is a Manufacturer of Brazing & Hardening Systems for Aerospace & Defense, Space Simulation & Supersonic Testing Systems, Coating & Heat Treatment Systems for Automotive as well as Vacuum Chambers, Coating & Deposition Systems, Vacuum Furnace & Ovens, Vacuum Components & Measurement Systems, Vacuum Leak Detection Systems.
The customer had the following objectives: 
  • Hot-redundancy was required in the automation system to have almost 100% availability of the system 
  • Advanced SCADA requirement for better monitoring and reporting of the key parameters of the Vacuum chambers
  • S7-1500H Hot Redundant PLC, ET 200SP I/O station, WinCC OA SCADA, SCALANCE Switches, COMFORT Panel HMIs 
  • TIA Portal STEP 7 Professional
  • Bump-less switch over of CPU in case of failure in less than 100ms 
  • Advanced trends, reporting, on-screen editing of data in runtime safes 10 mins each step. Uploading of specimen images onto the SCADA with the key parameters displayed on the images reduces coding effort by almost 10-15%. 
Automation and SCADA solution for Cylindrical Vacuum Chambers, which are used for space simulation, deposition and high vacuum applications.
