The advantage of the system is that it is a compact and scalable system. It is easy to configure. You do not need a deep redundancy knowledge – Redundancy functionality is integrated on the PLCs. All components are also integrated in the programming tool TIA Portal, which makes the system easy and efficient to configure and program.
The solution thus integrates all the safety systems along the road section and transmits information to those who are responsible for monitoring the roads. Through this project, Tratec Norcon AS increased their efficiency, reducing time spent on development and implementation. According to measurements compared with other projects they could save up to 30 percent programming time in specific areas.
