Honey company Meli in Veurne approached integrator Dynamics with a very specific question. Their dosing unit, which distributes the honey over the jars, was outdated. The jars were not always filled with the same accuracy, and the machine was increasingly idle. They needed thus a retrofit !
Meli's machine may have been outdated, but not yet ready for the scrap heap. The base was still excellent. That is why integrator Dynamics and client Meli opted for a retrofit. After a few weeks of preparation and a few days on site, the job was already done.

Alexander Dewaele of Dynamics: “We replaced the PC-controlled installation with a Simatic S7-1512-SP-F controller with adapted safety components.   And we also put in a new servo drive system, specially designed for the Simotics S-1FK2 servo motor: the Sinamics S210 servo controller, which is controlled via Profinet. This controller has integrated safety functions via ProfiSAFE and is extremely easy to configure.  In addition to commissioning via Startdrive in the TIA portal, this is also possible with the integrated web server. The One Button Tuning is a relief.”  The Sinamics S210 has an integrated braking resistor, which saves cabinet space.  The automatic recognition of the motor by the Sinamics S210 ensures quick commissioning.
The result: a smooth machine. “Thanks to the upgrade, the dosing cylinders are automatically accurately adjusted to the correct size. Downtime is also reduced to an absolute minimum: the motor has low inertia and high overload capacity and we can set short turning cycles under heavy loads, which improves productivity.”
