GTB develops a fully automatic cleaning system comprising of two system sections for the final cleaning of endoprostheses. With fifty different cleaning programs and 128 settable process parameters per cleaning rack, this system provides a functionality that goes far beyond the level of standard industrial cleaning machines.
In this context, more than 17,000 program lines with more than 3,300 variables had to be written. In addition, the availability and efficiency of the plant should be improved in order to save costs.

Industrial cleaning systems from GTB are customized solutions for the physical and chemical cleaning of all kinds of products used in the automotive, optics, medical engineering and semiconductor sectors. GTB develops and manufactures tailored cleaning systems for the final cleaning of endoprostheses which meet the superior demands placed in the medical engineering sector.
An S7-1515 controls the complex system functions. The complex program of the Simatic S7-315 CPU used so far could be easily migrated to the S7-1500 CPU via the TIA Portal. Thanks to the compact design of the ET 200SP, the space required for the control cabinets could be significantly reduced. The possibility to apply sensors directly via 3-wire technology with 8-channel input modules eliminates additional external series terminals, therefore not only reducing the costs, but also the number of error sources due to there being less contact points.
