Exploiting synergies of virtual and real CNC The customer opted for the combination of (existing) SINUMERIK hardware on the machine tools and the SinuTrain CNC training system on PCs. SINUMERIK and SinuTrain are based on the same numerical control, which means that the real and virtual CNC provide the same range of functions. This enables simple, bidirectional exchange of CNC programs in training and production. The result is well-founded, practical, vocational training that teaches the functionalities of various technologies as well as, in addition to basic theoretical procedures, practical aspects such as scanning work offsets. Machine tools then remain free for production whenever they are needed.
