Egypt's public transportation sector is growing rapidly, with 1,613 routes covering nearly 250,000 kilometers. The market volume is expected to reach $619.42 million by 2028. Egypt is investing in eco-friendly projects like the Cairo Monorail to connect major cities and integrate with existing metro lines. The Desiro trains, part of Siemens Mobility’s rail expansion in Egypt, are designed to modernize the country's regional rail transport. These are four-car electric multiple units (EMUs) optimized for high capacity and regional travel.

Therefore, Siemens Mobility was looking for reliable and stand-alone fire detectors that

• meet SIL2 requirements
• enable a direct connection to the Train Control and Management System (TCMS) without the need for a special fire control control panel
• are a plug-and-play solution 
• guarantee durability and reliability 
• meet the highest quality standards and use V0 material

For 94 Desiro trains from Siemens Mobility, we provided our multi-criteria plug-and-play spot detectors with hidden bases, which eliminated the need for a separate fire control panel by enabling a direct link to the TCMS. High criteria for materials, particularly V0 material, and a greater emphasis on safety issues (SIL2) were addressed.

Siemens provided the fire detection solution for the Desiro passenger train of Siemens Mobility. They are constructed in different factories in Germany.
