Project description:
In September 2022, the project began by addressing the customer's concerns about operational difficulties with the crane and position winch system.
In July 2023, after assessing the situation on the HYUNDAI-10000 (10.000 Ton Crane Barge), Siemens service experts proposed a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and network system migration.
In August 2024, the customer agreed and signed a contract for the implementation of a Siemens service solution.
Customer objectives:
Exchange PLC to SIMATIC S7-400H series for
Main Crane and Position Winch System.
Replace discontinued Remote I/O with SIMATIC ET200SP HA, ET200SP and SIMATIC ET200MP series.
Enhance HMI (Human Machine Interface) with a larger and more
comprehensive system
Optimize drive control
sequences for independent operation of each system.
Modernize network system with R1 redundancy and communication cables upgrades.
Upgrade SIMATIC S7-300 and discontinued SIMATIC S7-400 models to newest SIMATIC S7-400 series.
Upgrade ET200M and 3rd party remote I/O to SIMATIC ET200SP HA, ET200SP and ET200MP series.
Replace the competitor's HMI with SIMATIC Comfort Panel, which comes with a new SIMATIC WinCC software.
Replace the discontinued SCALANCE X with SCALANCE XC and implement network duplexing.
Improve the drive control sequences for the main crane and position winch system.
Lifetime extension of each line through hardware replacement and renewal.
Reduced spare part costs due to the brand-new system.
User-friendly HMI that provides greater flexibility for operating the barge crane.
