Up to now, cables connecting X-ray machines to detectors and the hospital network for data transmission:
Restricted mobility and speed during examinations Hygiene risk
Sources of interference and shielding adversely, disrupt radio waves
Encryption and authentication procedures
Digital images are transferred securely, reliably, and in real time over Wireless LAN employing SCALANCE W Access Points.
In stationary systems, the SCALANCE W774-1 or W788-1 Access Points are used, which wirelessly receive the images via the radio interface in the digital X-ray detector.
“A WLAN is the ideal solution in hospitals, where a quick response and maximum flexibility are required.”
Michael Fuhrmann, product manager for digital radiography systems at Siemens Healthineers
Transmit the time-critical X-ray data securely, reliably, and in real time
Thanks to digital imaging, X-rays are available to treating physicians seconds after being taken for accurate diagnoses.
The wirelessly communicating detectors simplify the image reproduction and greatly reduce the time required for making the images available as compared to working with X-ray films.
High investment protection: WLAN components are guaranteed to be available even 10 years after their discontinuation.
Siemens Healthineers is one of the largest technology providers for the healthcare industry, and one of the leading manufacturers of medical imaging technology, laboratory diagnostics, and clinical IT solutions.Project target is an optimal connection of X-ray machines to detectors and the hospital network for data transmission.
