In addtion, unpredictable failure of pneumatic clamps leads to production stop.For inpro:Missing interoperable automation environment hinders fast rollout at scale which is needed due to high number of clamps. Reliable runtime environment to execute the trained AI models close to the asset.

Thousands of pneumatic clamps are used in automotive body shops to hold individual components in position for further processing. As of now, these clamps have been exchanged based on the number of cycles or due to unexpected failures. Monitoring the healthiness of the individual clamps and classifying failure cause by AI helps to reduce unplanned downtimes and increase production availability.
The inpro solution utilities the Siemens Industrial Edge/AI architecture in order to automatically predict the healthiness and most likely identify cause for failure based on operational data. The solution contains the S7-Connector, IIH, AI Inference Server, AI Model Manager and AI Model Monitor.
