PBEG supports customers with consulting, planning and technical implementation with a focus on construction projects in the agricultural sector. As part of a project, individual biogas plants shall be combined into pools and provide balancing energy in electrical grids. For this use case, the biogas plants need to be connected to a central control platform.
Objectives: The various biogas plants use heterogeneous automation solutions. It should be possible to connect new plants without much effort and prior knowledge of the control system used. Communication with the Strom Pool Manager should be bidirectional. The Manager will communicate updated limit values to the IED, while also receiving current production values from the biogas plants.

Each biogas plant is equipped with an industrial edge device to exchange data with the PLC of the plant. Various connectors such as S7, OPC UA or Ethernet IP are used for this. A self developed app communicates with the Strom Pool Manager. The Strom Pool Manager can be accessed via the internet and allocates the balancing energy to the individual biogas plants.
