Maximator Hydrogen GmbH
99734 Nordhausen Germany
The German company Maximator Hydrogen GmbH, based in Nordhausen, Thuringia, has been producing innovative hydrogen filling stations since 2019.
The requirements placed on the switching and protection technology used in the filling stations are as complex as they are demanding: highest standards of safety and availability, hazardous areas, and limited installation space.
Maximator Hydrogen GmbH meets these requirements not least by using SIRIUS industrial controls and SENTRON protection and measuring devices.
Cover worldwide standards and approvals
Fail-safe product variants available
Approval for drives located in hazardous areas (ATEX)
It is therefore extremely important that we have found components that can be used in a modular manner, have approval for hazardous areas and are also fail-safe.

A central role play:
SIMATIC ET 200SP motor starters (fail-safe):
Control various fans of the hydrogen filling stations
Width of just 30 millimeters with fully integrated safety technology
High diagnostic density
Integrated in TIA Portal
SIRIUS 3RW55 soft starters (fail-safe):
Start the electric motor of the drive hydraulics for the compressor
Compact alternative to other motor control systems or starting methods: it is significantly smaller than a frequency converter in the corresponding power range. And there are also no current and torque peaks, which are common, for example, with star-delta (wye-delta) starting controls during activation or switchover. This helps to protect the mechanics and to avoid overloading the customer's line connection.
SENTRON 3VA2 molded-case circuit breakers:
Accessories include a motorized operating mechanism for the main switch, which is used on the molded-case circuit breaker. This allows the switch to be controlled remotely. No manual intervention is required on site.
