The existing wastewater treatment plant at the Schweinfurt North site was no longer able to keep pace with the increases in production. As retrofitting of the existing plant proved to be an uneconomical option, the decision was made to build a new wastewater treatment plant.
In accordance with the existing approvals, the purified wastewater from the new system is "directly discharged" to the nearby River Main. Particular attention is therefore paid to the neutralization plant – not only within ZF, but also by the public and the responsible water authorities.

Implementation by a professional: System Integrator Scheba is a Siemens Solution Partner.
SIMATIC WinCC V7.0 is implemented in a local station and in the control room as SCADA and visualization software.
In the plant, the software runs on an industrial Panel-PC SIMATIC IPC577C.
The plant is controlled by a SIMATIC S7-317 2 PN/DP.

ZF benefits from the integration in the company IT infrastructure for the central storage and analysis of data. Printing out and archiving paper documentation is finally a thing of the past. Lastly, the precise and real-time measurement of the pH value achieves the best possible treatment of the waste water with optimum use of resources – and the environment also benefits from this.

The plant has been implemented in a space-saving design for the direct discharge process from a certified Siemens Solution Partner.
