Whereas previously all ingredients were weighed and tipped into the mixer manually, the dosing procedure today is fully automated. The automation of the batter preparation also necessitated the introduction of a Scada system for managing the recipes. All production data must be collected, analyzed, documented and visualized. In addition, a seamless and traceable operation must be facilitated.
Even in its basic version, WinCC V7 features extensive options for controlling or simulating the production process in detail, or for preparing and clearly displaying production data by means of tables and graphs. This basic functionality is extended with industry-specific functionalities by means of supplementary add-ons. The premium add-ons "PM-Control" and "PM-Quality" are seamlessly integrated into the basic system and are used in batch production processes.
Used Products:

"Due to its reliability and international availability, WinCC V7 had to be our first choice."
Josef Hellebusch, Executive Director of the system integrator
Significant savings in purchasing by more accurate dosing of the ingredients
Increased product quality by the automated production process, e.g. by preventing incorrect dosages
Proof of staying in compliance with the production process to the end customers and simple retrieval of analyses as proof of quality and for traceability purposes
Central storage of the production data and cross checks with the ERP system permit the optimization of the production process
The largest wafer production facility in Germany "Waffelfabrik Meyer zu Venne GmbH und Co. KG" is located in the town of Venne near Osnabrück. The third generation of this family-run company now bake and package about three billion wafer products a year, exporting them all over the world. Depending on the season, as many as 180 employees may be producing wafers 24/7.
Wafers are a component of many foods and for a long time now the demand for them has been so great that it can no longer be met by small local bakeries. Instead, the market is now supplied by highly industrialized manufacturers.
