The water crisis in the Canary Islands is due
to several factors, including overexploitation and contamination of aquifers,
as well as poor management of water resources. The high demand for water by the
tourism sector, especially in areas such as the south of Tenerife, is
increasingly aggravating the situation.
Siemens, with the help of local sales
colleagues, proposed to upgrade the control system of the main water channel on
the island of Tenerife. The solution was to install our RTU3041C at several
points of the water channel, where there is no electricity supply. These RTUs
pick up various digital and analogue signals from an already installed
flowmeter and send them to a control centre using TeleControl Basic. In this control centre, being able to visualize
the 11 stations, they decided to install WinCC Unified V19. In addition, being
aware of the difficulty of physical access to many of these remote stations,
the client was convinced to install SINEMA Remote Connect. The use of TeleControl
Basic with Sinema Remote Connect is the perfect solution for these requirements.
Due to the connection between RTU3041C and Sinema Server is active, Telecontrol
Basic data is sent through it.
Thanks to Siemens' remote control solutions
with secure access, the end customer has a reliable, safe and robust system to work
on Tenerife's main water channel. The use of TeleControl Basic in conjunction
with SINEMA Remote Connect makes it easier for the customer to control and
maintain the remote stations on the channel remotely.
